Hi,

Has anyone seen "Anesthesia Nightmares" on the Discovery Channel? What did you think? I haven't seen it yet.

I'm guessing this is the re-run, if so - I watched it a while back. I would think that this "anesthesia awareness" is relatively rare, and makes you wonder what sort of frightful image this is putting in many people's heads... ?

While I'm not supposing that anyone should "hide" the truth from the public.. I don't recall in the program if they mention any statistics about how often this sort of thing occurs?

Default I hated that show!
I was okay with the stories, but my problem is with the segment with the woman and the isolated forearm technique. If she had not signaled using her hand that she was in pain, it would not have been much of a TV segment. I think that the anesthesiologist brought her too light on purpose, for the cameras. I'm of the camp that amnesia isn't the same thing as adequate anesthesia. I hope that she still doesn't remember, and is okay with what they filmed.
