Anesthesia Bound????

For all of those who interviewed at MTSA yesterday and today good luck. Tommorow morning we will all find out of the 100 that interviewed who will being going to CRNA school. I just hope I am one of them. Good luck to everyone who has applied and is still waiting at any other schools. This waiting is agonizing. I have found one thing that helps me keep my mind of off school. Eating!!! If I don't find out soon I will gain thirty pounds!!!

So you applied to Middle TN School of Anesthesia? I hear that it is an exceptional school.

Good Luck to you!

Default Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia
The school will notify people on the 21st of January if they have been accepted. I was very impressed with this school. They start clinicals after a five week orientation at the start of school. I was very impressed with their interview process. They made available students who are presently in their program to answer questions which was very helpful. The interview was only 10-12 minutes long. Very professional and I was made to feel welcome and comfortable even though I was seated in front of 10-12 interviewers. They were very gracious and though somewhat intimidating for me I was very impressed with everything I heard and saw there. As their entire focus is on anesthesia, they are very efficient at what they do. Their clinical program sounds incredible. Six months into their program SRNA's are already doing art-lines and central lines and a few students had already floated PA catheters. I talked with two students who already have 100+ cases under their belt. It is not uncommon for them to have over 1000 cases by the time they graduate. They do have a few rotations where they have anesthesia residents but said this presented no problems in selecting cases. In fact, two students indicated they prefered the teaching hospitals because in these hospitals they are allowed to do more because they do not have to deal with some "business related issues" as private hospitals do. I was especially impressed at what a tight group these people are. They are very comfortable with their program. I felt at ease and would encourage anyone considering applying to give this school some consideration.

I thought this thread was looking for me!

Congrats on the interview and good luck. I was lucky enough to have gone through the early interview process and was accepted. I got the same impressions of the school as you did. I know two people in the class ahead and they both said it had become like their second family. Everybody, including teachers, genuinely cares how you do and wants to see you accel.

You seem as excited about school as I am, so I know how tough the wait will be. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you in class in July. I can't wait to eat, drink and sleep anesthesia and hope to find study partners who think likewise.

Please let me know how you do.
