1099 Sign on Bonus

Hey folks,

First time poster.

I have a question maybe some colleagues can answer.

How much does a typical agency get for placing a CRNA in a 1099 position? I'm in contract negotiations, and I didn't use an agency and want to know how much I'm saving the hospital. For instance if the typical finders fee is 40K and then i'd counter with 30K, etc. Alas, I'm not sure how much an agency gets.

Thanks for the help and I'll try and share my knowledge with the forum in the rare instance I can.

Before becoming an RN, I worked at a placement agency. The fees would vary wildly based on many factors. Before the economy went south, I would say that in Texas the fees would vary anywhere from 15k-30k for a fresh grad. An experienced CRNA would probably add 10k to that. hope that helps.

Perm fees are all over the place these days. Most fees are 15 - 20 K for a CRNA. Experience doesn't come into play very much. Most anesthesia groups will pit one agency against another saying "so and so agency charges 8 k so that's all I'm paying." Keep in mind that if you are going to be paid on a 1099 basis that an agency will charge between $ 120 - $ 125 per hour and pay the CRNA $100 - $ 105. When you go with a group directly you should earn $ 5 - $ 10 more per hour.
