Why midwifery?

Good day all,
I am a nursing student and am writing a paper on midwifery. Im very interested in the subject and hope to be joining the ranks some day. If anyone who is passionate about being a CNM is willing to take a few minutes and describe the following, it would help me tremendously. Why did you choose to be a CNM? what is your educational and professional background?, What is your current role and the scope and responsibilities of your role?
