Oh, I am so scared. I went to a nun school and developed a horrible fear of math. This has been keeping me from going further in my education. So, after getting info from all of you, I decided to face my fears and just do it. I will start the statistics course, via Frontier, in April. But, I am petrified. I don't know anything about that SPSS program and I'm certainly not a computer expert. Any advice from any of you who took Frontier's stat course? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Barb

Take a deep breath in and exhale... you'll do fine.

You don't have to know a thing about SPSS. It's kind of like Excel (it's a spreadsheet...you enter data and it does the math for you). If you can click on a menu to tell it what tests you want done, you'll be fine. You learn how to use it in the beginning. It's a pretty basic course. There is ALMOST no math involved (unless you want to work the problems out with paper & calculator). It's more about interpreting what the results are...is the result significant, is this the right test to run, etc... The instructor is very approachable. I finished the course in about 6 weeks, but I did have statistics 20 years earlier. Compared to the stats course I took in college, this was NOTHING!!!!

Welcome to Frontier...you're making a great decision.

I can remember last winter feeling so afraid of this course. And, I am now almost half-way through and can't say enough positive about it! This stat course takes ALL the stress away and really teaches you how to understand research studies. Thanks to all of you for the support!
