I am wanting to apply to FSMFN for the December 2009 class and do not have a Statistics class. Do I need to have this before I apply for the ADN-MSN Bridge program or have it before I get into the program. The due date for... Read More

hi Todd, I successfully applied with the portfolio process and started this winter. It was a great opportunity to get "credit" for my experience. It saved me a lot of $$ and time as well. The application process took a while- I spent a long time working on the essays- all told, probably 2 months from starting it to submitting it. I took stats while waiting to hear-- before Frontier Bound, but after submitting the application. There seemed to only be 2 of us who entered the program this way during my Frontier Bound-- I am not sure if more people did not go through the application process, or if they did, but were admitted to the Bridge instead. I think it was more likely that people did not apply to it. Good Luck!

Thank so much for the reply this is really encouraging. The application is definately BIG I just found out about the process today I was excited about the bridge but this is even better. I would love any input about the application itself. Are you in the middle of the program ?? Good for you, I have a few months to get my wife through her LPN and then I can get into the swing of stats but I will start working on the application.

    Thanks again for the input

If you don't mind me asking what type of Bachelors did you have? I am thinking about applying and I have a Bachelors in Psychology and and ADN (graduated with honors for both degrees) with 3 years of nursing experience in Med/Surg, Maternity, and GYN. Also, I know by the time I apply my Statistics course will no longer be good (over 10 years ago in May 2010). Do I have to take statistics before I apply or can I apply and just take it before Frontier Bound (that is if I get in)? Lastly, do you have any advice on how to strengthen my portfolio? I feel like I don't have very much to speak of, or I am just not thinking of things that would count. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
