I have a question about being a midwife in Georgia

I have a question that I'm asking for a friend of mine. Does anyone know if you have to have your bachelors degree in midwifery in Georgia to be a midwife? She was telling me that you didn't have to in Georgia but that you had to in Illinois.

To become a CNM (Certified Nurse-Midwife) you must have a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalant) in Nursing, a Master's Degree in Nursing and a Post-Master's Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery. That is the same no matter what state in which you live.

There are other types of (non nurse) midwives that require different types of educational preparation.

Hope that helps!
