For those who were accepted to an accelerated BSN/CNM program...

I don't think any issue at all- they just say to make sure your community college is accredited. I checked with Yale about the GEPN program and they wrote back that they encouraged people to take the classes at the community colleges as they are much more affordable.

Hi everyone! I just had a quick question for those who have been accepted to an accelerated BSN/CNM program. I have a BA in Humanities which I completed through an online program (I was active duty Navy at the time) I am preparing to register for my prereqs through the local university, however the local community college offers the same courses at more convenient times (I work full-time and have a 9-month old at home who loves his mommy-time!:). Did any of you have any issues regarding completing your prereqs at a community college vs. four-year university, or run into any schools that had concerns regarding community college courses? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I did an accelerated nursing program (UConn), though there was no CNM opportunity, and it was my impression that they weren't concerned about where the prereqs were completed but rather what grades were obtained. Personally I did most of my prereqs at UConn but there was one that I did (genetics) that was online and at a community college. Others in my class did complete most of their prereqs at community college. I think that the important thing for a lot of these programs is to try to get as many A's as possible.

I agree, I ended up at OHSU after taking all of my pre-reqs at a local community college in the rural northeastern part of the country. There were no questions about quality/content. Good luck!
