lovenox hematoma?

by Mattmax

Pediatric nurse here, seeking expert advice.

I was hospitalized last week myself with A. Fib. and received Lovenox sq, started on coumadin, cardiverted, and discharged. One of my lovenox injections was given VERY lateral on my abdomen, and has formed a hematoma between the size of a golf ball and baseball. It is still very gradually growing, about 1.2 cm in past 24 hours. My INR was 2.0 today, and I am back at work. But this hematoma hurts! It is in my nasty roll of skin, left over from gastric bypass surgery. Any advice?

Thanks!!!!

We here at AN can't give medical advice. You really need to speak with your primary care person about these concerns. Hope you get the answers you're looking for.
