Has anyone used the Impella Device? Does your institution have a written protocol?

We use it. I have a cheat sheet re setting up, priming and running the device. I don't work in cath lab though (I work in vad program). We use them for PCI support and pull at the end of the case, or for bridging to a more longterm device. The post-procedure protocols are the same as any other cath with the bedrest, groin site care etc since the pump just goes via a groin sheath.

I work in the ACU and we are in the process of developing a protocol. A lot to learn and teach in few short weeks, but exciting. Will be in touch with questions most likely.
