    This sounds stupid, but what does CCRN stand for? I thought it was Critical Care Registered Nurse, but I've been told that it stands for something else.

    You don't sound stupid at all. I thought the same thing until I read differently while gathering info on how to register for the CCRN.

    As the AACN says, CCRN denotes being certified in Critical Care nursing. That is different than being registered as a Critical Care nurse. Kind of confusing if you ask me. You can go to www.certcorp.org for all the info about CCRN.
