United Health Group Field Care Coordinator

Specialties Case Management

I have an interview coming up with UHG and have read very mixed reviews on not only this site but others about the work and expectations. Most of the posts are over a year old however. I would love to hear from someone who currently works for the company or did recently and get their point of view.

Also any tips for the interviewing process would be much appreciated!!

I live in Iowa if you need to know that.....

United Health is the largest health insurance corporation in the United States.

I have serious reservations about whether or not someone who was employed by them would speak about them on a public forum. Unless they had only glowing and wonderful things to say.

I don't know that my opinion is glowing but here you go. I have only worked for UHC 4 1/2 months, I have a friend that does telephonic service coordination that suggusted the company to me, she loves it. I am a service coordinator for nursing facility members in Texas. It's like any job. There's good and not so good, do the good things about it out way the not so good? In my case they do. I work from home, I go out 2 times a week to visit members. Some people really don't like being isolated at home that long so it's something to consider. There are deadlines to meet and the company is huge, it is hard at times getting the information I need if I am having to rely on someone else. Or if I need to find the person that does certain things can be difficult. Benefits are ok, nothing great to win you over. So far I am really enjoying it! Hope that helps.

I have found that not to be the case on several websites (glassdoor, indeed and yahoo jobs). Like I said in my original post I have read good and bad but most was not very recent that is why I reached out on here.

Do field case managers have a productivity they have to make. Do patients call you or are you on the computer all day?

Just received the offer today! Home/Field based. Very excited!

I think just describing a typical day in whatever area you are working will give great insight into the job. I see nothing wrong with talking about employers whether that be insurance companies, hospitals or agencies. Even Glassdoor asks for reviews. Just don't give generalities like " managers difficult to work with" or " workload is heavy". Say something specific. We are medical professionals.

Hi RN MOM - Would you be willing to state what salary was offered? I'm being considered for a similar position and have no idea what type of raise i should ask for ... I'm currently a Case Manager 1, and believe i will be promoted to CM2 field work soon.
