by Sillig Nov 15, '02I have been selling health insurance for 12 years and formerly was an orthopaedic RN for a large hospital for 8 years. I am considering re-entering the nursing field and interested in Case Management. My question is...how difficult will it be to get into Case Management. Any suggestions..I really don't want floor nursing again.
Thanks!

- Nov 20, '02 by LasVegasRNIt's not hard. You will probably get more interest from workers' comp based employers because of your ortho background.
You have two great things going for you: knowledge of insurance, and your ortho background. Send out applications and your resume and see what happens.
In interviewing, they are going to want to see how your management skills are, how you prioritize, and your ability to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds.
Good luck!
