On-line courses UR/CM

by KAW1962

Hello all and thanks in advance for any information you can offer. I am very interested in pursuing UR/CM and was wondering if there are any on-line courses available for these positions. I am looking for some guidance and direction as to the best route to achieve this goal. I have been a med/surg nurse for nearly 10 years and it is time to move in a different direction. I live and am currently licensed in Pennsylvania. Any help would be appreciated.

Like a lot of other nursing areas, CM struggles what it is and how to define itself. Our standard in my hospital is Master's prepared mursing and SW also. I know other areas do this with Diploma and ADN as well, though I believe a baccaulaurate will stand anyone in good stead. Clinically, you must I think have at minimum, and that is bare minimum, 5 years clinical. 110-15 is even better.Say Med-Surg, Critical Care, Peds, or home health. also would be good. There are good books out there, I'll re -post witha list of these. you might read my post on this board about requirements. I'm not familiar with online courses in CM, but there is one university that offers a Master's in it. google it and you'll get lots of info, also

I have Master's in Psych, certified in Psych and Gerontology, + addictions.

Good Luck
