Is it easier to become a case manager or disease manager?


Was certification required for you to become a case manager or disease manager? If so, how were you able to get your first job as a case manager or disease manager without certification? Did your employer pay for a case/disease management course as part of your orientation? It was rather difficult for me to get into CM/DM but I my extensive background was given consideration.
