funnygirl: I studied for the past 4 months to take the exam in Dec. I did not need to study for that long. I wasn't sure what content would be on the exam, so I studied everything. I am a hospital case manager. I studied up on Worker's comp and vocational rehab because I do not deal with this on a regular basis. The test I took did not have much if any on Worker's comp. My exam had psych, vocational rehab. basic questions re: setting up home care, negotiation skills, questions re: health coaching, family dynamics, managed care payment, coordination of benefits, basic questions re: snf, rehab, DME, hospice. Some questions re: ADA, HIPAA, URAC, confidentiality, goals of CM, communication, disease case management, the process of CM. I really recommend looking at the CCMC website and specifically reading the section on examination content and structure of the exam. The concepts that will be tested are outlined there. It really will help you to narrow down what you need to study. I did go to ADA website and reviewed some basic content which I found helpful. I felt I had overstudied for the exam, but at least I felt I knew about 90-95% of the content. I was really glad when I saw PASS at the end. All the hard work paid off. I hope this helps.

Luv2learn - Thank you so much for your detailed post, I really appreciate it. Your post was very helpful and I already went to the CCMC site and printed a lot of the material on website and what you mentioned. I will have to study the areas I am weak on. I too do not work with workman's comp or rehab. Again, thanks and congrats to you for passing exam!!

I have "A Case Managers Study Guide Preparing For Certification" by Denise Fattorusso 3rd edition paperback and cd. I bought it new from Amazon.com new and yes I passed - 1st time.

I bought everything I could and still have them. All were new.
I also have CMSA Core Curiculum for Case Management, A Case Manager's Handbook, CCM Exam Secrets, The Case Manager Survival Guide.

    Where do you live?

Hi, thanks for responding so quietly. I live in Elkin, NC. I do have the CCM Exam Secrets and The Case Management review and Resource Manual but can't find very many questions and answer books. Do you have the ccm exam prep intensive-900 questions and anwers. I learn better if I have questions and answers to see how I am progressing. Please let me know.
    Thanks CH

joyhiken1, have you taken the exam yet? I took it today, passed easily.
Some advice, read the questions carefully, look at each of the four possible answers, you will be able to easily eliminate two of the four even if you don't have a clue
I found the questions to be very practice centered, no trick questions.
