2014 Healthcare ReformRegister Today!
- by Thephoenixrises Dec 3, '11Hi Everyone,
I'm a CM at a hospital and am currently working through some of the changes going on in our nation in regards to Healthcare Reform. I was wondering if someone out there could explain how this is going to impact hospitals (mainly CM's) and also consumers. I know that's a tall order but I'm having trouble understanding what a Health insurance exchange is and how one can opt to getting a private insurance vs an employer sponsored plan.
Any help on this would be fantastic. I just don't seem to get it!

Many of the states are not moving forward on these plans pending the Supreme court decision. The ACA does have provisions that emphasize the importance of case management and will continue to make this nursing speciality a growth area as it's primary goal will be to keep people out of the acute care setting.
