by RN28MD

All I am ask is for all of us to learn of each other. There has always been a things as a new nurse we have done wrong or wished we did it another way. What types of things did you encountered that you needed an experience nurse for? What was the situation? Learning from others will help us unexperience nurses critically think better.

- If you give a drug, make sure you know the drug info, admin time/method before you do a thing.
- Check and label your lines: when the proverbial hits the fan, you need to know what IV access you have and what goes where.
- Get your replacement inotropes well before they run out.
- Never never never give potassium quickly.

***If you ever get a bad feeling before doing something, DON'T DO IT**. Check with someone else - better to look like a doofus than kill someone.
