Question on Specialty Certification

Hi all,
I am a nurse on a telemetry unit. I am wondering if there is a specialty certification option for cardiac nurses who are not experienced in critical care, and if so, how do I get certified?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Amy,

You can do PCCN (Certification for Progressive Care Nurses). You must have completed 1750 hours direct bedside nursing within the last 2 years. You can view more information here.

Check out nursecredentialing.org (ancc), they have a cardiovascular nurse certificate.
