I have been offered a position in Telemetry. my question is about the 3 on /4 off schedule. Are the 3 days consecutive days ? or do they jump around? I did not ask this in the interview..... thanks !

Mine jump around. Sometimes they go in a row but it feels like I never get 4 days off... It really depends on your floor and how they schedule. This week I'm on mon, thurs and sun..

It would probably depend on the particular floor and how they do scheduling. My unit uses a master 6 week schedule. I chose to do most of my days together so I generally do 3 in a row, there are a few exceptions but I never have less than 2 days off in a row. I am lucky enough to have worked it out in my schedule so during the middle of my schedule I have 7 days off in a row. I would ask the manager and see if you will be on a fixed schedule or if your schedule will vary.

It depends on the unit and the hospital, but in the units I have worked for in my hosptial the days jump around. Some people request to work 3 in a row to get a few more days off on the end, but it doesn't always work out that way, especially with per diems and part timers in the mix.
