Re: US ADN = Canadian LPN?
I think over the next few years it may well be up to the province to decide.
Many of the latest BScN's from the Phillipines upon examination of their education have been issued LPN permits in Alberta.
The changes in the PN education and the increased skill set have basically made the LPN into the old diploma/hospital trained nurse. Factor in four or more semesters to become an PN with skill sets that include iv starts and med administration, ng insertion, etc and the basic gap is closing rapidly.
