RPN questions

I'm a RPN student in Ontario, at Humber College in Toronto.

I LOVE it so far! It is so rewarding. As far as workload, I go part-time, so I can only tell you this - it's work

I read that for every hour you spend in class, you spend two hours studying - well, that's true. I find it depends on the class. For example, things like psychology and sociology are a breeze, but I try to study hard for important subject such as nursing theory and A&P. You really have to juggle your time effectively. So far, I've been able to keep my grades 80% or higher, which is my goal for the rest of the program.

What school are you going to? Full time or part-time? As far as starting wages for when you graduate, I believe the OHA (Ontario Hospital Association) has them on their website. I believe (but don't quote me on this!) it is between $16-$19 an hour. I could be wrong.

hey, i am a second year full time RPN student, i'll be honest its tough there is a lot of work you have to competely buckle down. when i first began we started out with a class of around 50 or so and now we have only 28. you really have to apply yourself. its alot of fun and the freindships i have made are priceless. just dont put off homework or your readings off to the last minute it is realy easy to get put behind. as for the pay well we had a guest speaker from the RPNAO and she was realy helpful, she said that it is pretty much $23 to start, hope this helps

I have been an RPN for 15 years Worked in OB to Geriatrics.

Where you work depends on pay Hospitals here range from 18-25 per hour doctors office 14/hour I am a charge Nurse in a Retirement HOme and it is 16.50/hour.
