RPN/LPN/RNA all the same???

Yes and some people that I went to school with become raving lunatics if anyone suggests that they not be allowed to work at full scope. I work in a complex continuing care hospital and we deal with very little IVs and PICC lines so the RNs deal with them,even though technically they are within our scope and there is no policy stating we can't.I love my job and work with terrific nurses so that little item is really not important. Former classmates are horrified that i don't have my IV certification but I really wouldn't keep up my competentcy if i did. if we do have a pt with an IV they usually came with it.

I agree with the above. I would choose a supportive workplace first, then worry about skills. JMO.

All I have to say is Southern Ontario Is the worst for RPN jobs. I graduated from the new Diploma RPN program, and I regret it soo much. I should have just gone to the RN program. Ontario is not RPN friendly, and even though our skill level has really increased and improved no body seems to care. Most hospitals around here do not let you use those skills, which is a great pitty. I am still a "nurse" and I should be allowed to "nurse" to my full capacity. Very unfair,
