Moved to the Canadian forum. Not sure why you haven't really studied knowing exam is coming up and cramming will not help. Try and do a bit now

Good luck

The exam is basic nursing common sense. You learnt in college and graduated.

Just focus on YOUR areas of weakness. Mine was IV fluids and peds.

If you are working you know the answers.

Get some sleep, take some gum or mints with you, a couple of pencils and relax.

The exam is written to the lowest level of PN education nationwide, so depending on where you went to college you may be over prepared.

Relax and good luck

I wrote it in Ontario and it wasn't that bad, I finished early and so did quite a few others that wrote with me. A few questions required a bit of extra thought but it was a very fair exam. I would say that my weak area was maternal/child as we only had one day there in clinical and one or two days in class.

Yup, just remember that there are a couple of hundred others across Canada writing the same exam with the same nerves.

I also finished early. It's hell having to wait out the required time until you can leave.

Remember first answer on multiple choice is usually right. Don't second guess yourself.

It wasn't fun waiting around to leave. I didn't leave the exam feeling like it was super easy, it's just that they gave us 7 - 8 hours to write it and that was plenty long enough when you consider that when you write multiple choice, your first instinct is likely the right one. Anyway, good luck and I am sure you will do fine.

I've never heard it described as super easy. More like you know the answer but... and you wind up second guessing yourself.

We did five day placements in each of peds, maternity, and psych. I don't remember there being much on the psych area. Probably depends on the test.

The whole day is nerve wracking. I found that after writing it, I really did discover areas of weakness and interestingly enough they are in areas that I would never want to work. Guess it shows in how much attention I paid during the lectures..

So, find the easiest route there, a place to have lunch, and then try and relax. My entire class passed on first writing. The schools in my province manage a 97-100% pass rate.
