Any nurses from the Okanagan region? I am looking at relocating there, possibly Kelowna... Any advice? I would like to know about safe, quiet communities in Kelowna, and what the conditions are like for an RN there.
Thanks!

Hi there! I'm in Kelowna, but not a nurse yet. I can't really help you in that area.

Kelowna is wonderful city. I just love it. There are many safe, quiet neighborhoods. Glenmore, Lower and Upper Mission, Dilworth Mountain, West Kelowna. However, be prepared that our housing market is now the 2nd most expensive in Canada, only Vancouver is more. Check out MLS for housing prices. The lesser expensive areas would be Rutland, Black Mountain, Old Glenmore, Lakeview Heights. Although even each of these areas have very expensive houses in them.

KGH seems like a good hospital most of the time, but there are always news stories about it being over crowded, code purples, etc. I don't know any RN's there, but the times I've been there, I've had good experiences with the nursing staff.

Let me know if there's anything more specific about Kelowna I could let you know.

Here's some links to local stuff
