Nursing jobs in Ontario

I successfully completed CRNE this Feb 2008. Now I am not sure how to hunt for an employment, because I do not have any canadian experience. Somebody please advise.

Hello,

I think I'd take my resume to wherever is advertising positions, or even those not advertising! Nurses are a valuable commodity and you'll get a position somewhere. It's understood that nurses don't all come with experience in every field. If you want to try something new, it may be a good time to try. There are also internships in specialty fields such as OR, ICU, PICU, paid, for qualified nurses wanting to gain experience.

So dust off your resume, make some calls and get ready for the rest of your life. You have nothing to lose!

Good luck
Sue

Take a look at the Nurses 4 Ontario website. I think they are having a career fair at Ryerson University. This is how I was able to get job offers. Good luck!

There are jobs, but first you need to get thru the CRNE exam. And that will be a long way off, even with a landed immigrant status. Be aware that most PHN jobs require some type of experience as an RN first there to get your assessment skills up to what they should be. You are not taught to do an assessment as you will have to do in the US or Canada in your country, the physicians do it there and it is their responsibility.
