It all depends on if it is public or private. The workload is heavy in both. Basically LTC is the "poor relation" of health care. Patient/nurse ratio is much higher than in active treatment. Is is LTC or an assisted living facility? In a city or in a rural area?

Families can be very demanding and have no hesitation in reporting whatever concerns they have about the care, the staff, the weather...

Certain areas of the province have very high populations of Ukranian descent and many patients and family prefer caregivers who can understand some Ukranian (give us a break people, I don't expect gaelic caregivers).

Dementia experience is good to have as the patients are getting older, sicker, and more demented.
