Welcome and good luck. Have you already approached BC to see if your qualifications are excepted as some provinces will not accept mental health training?

abiola07, was your caps lock key on when you posted your message? I'm sure you weren't shouting, which is what posting all in capital letters is considered on the web...

nikki55, to get the most our of your query, you should run a search of the forum for similar threads. This topic has been well-explored with lots of great information exchanged. Welcome to our merry little gorup!

Hi Nikki, I live in Kelowna, BC and I'm currently an LPN student.

Kelowna is very beautiful and a great place to live, but I hope you're aware of how EXPENSIVE it is!!!!! Housing prices have more than doubled in the past 6 years. It's pretty crazy!! The median price of a single family home is now around $465,000 or something crazy like that. In 2001, the average price was something like $180,000.

Anyways, have you looked up the website for Interior Health? Here's the link below. It's the main employer for our hospital and public nursing homes, etc. Of course, there are private employers as well, but I'm not sure who they are. Kelowna General does have a very busy psych ward that I'm sure needs more nurses!!

Have you been to Kelowna before? Please PM me or respond here if you'd like any other specific information of websites . I love Kelowna and will likely never move, but I wouldn't be living here if we hadn't bought our house in 2001!!!!
