Has anyone done U of Ottawa BScN?

If you took NSG 3309-Community Nursing Health Practium, I am wondering where you did you placement, the type of agency, what you did and whether your hours were flexible. Any feedback would be appreciated, PS. I am teleconferencing the degree.

Default No but soon...
I noticed your post but hesitated to write since i'm not actually in the course yet. Funny how nobody seems to be attending or EVER attended U of O. My father just recently retired from the Math Dept after 30 years. Its a given that I go...even if it is a little later than he would have liked. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon!

I thought Ottawa U. only offered it via distance education in French. That is what I was told recently. Please advise. Thanks,

Sarah

I think for the masters it is only French (dist ed). Teleconferencing in Eng for the BScN is done through Kingston, Cornwall, Peterborough, Belleville (there are more). Where do you live? They used to offer it in Oshawa but stopped.

I started my degree with Ottawa U last year, by teleconference.

Due to schedules and 12 hours shifts I found it to be next to impossible since I would always either be taking the course and then working all night ( groan) or working all day and then taking the course. Or the best one was coming in on my day off to take the course .... at the hospital where it is teleconferenced.

So I learned and now I am finishing my degree on-line with University of Victoria------and LOVE IT. I can sit home in my jammies and do my work. They are very organized and I can recommend the program highly.

I took the 3309 Community Health Nursing course at the beginning of this semester. I am doing the program by teleconference in Montreal so my placement was at one of the CLSC's (community clinic) in Montreal.
The hours I worked were the same as my preceptor, so one week 8-4, 9-5, 10-6 and 12-20. It was interesting to see all the different aspects in the community.
