Hi there, hope this isn't too late...
We send patients to GF strong all the time for rehab, occasionally the pts come back for more treatment etc...they all seem to be happy with the care they have recieved there.

Didn't it use to be the Veteran's Hospital?

See http://www.vch.ca/gfstrong/quick/about.htm for the history of this facility. But to answer the question of the original poster this facility has an excellent reputation. It is a few years ago now, but I used to work at VGH which is located close in proximity to GF Strong and I knew nurses that worked there and loved it there.

They have a great repuation with rehab.

i had a friend that worked there and she quit after a few months, she said that there was alot of verbal abuse from some of the patients and she just couldn't take it any longer.

What area? They have Spinal, Brain (Neuro) and maybe somthing else
An older building, in a nice "rich" area of town, run in an "old" fashion, staff are great to work with. lo-key not too high end acuity, some ventilated patients in spinal.
I agree with the verbal abusive comment earlier, m not sure why there are an exceptional number of these types, maybe its just a sign of the times, maybe no one laid down the law with them on what is acceptable

Verbal abuse by patients and their families is becoming more and more common across all areas of hospital care.

They "pay" our wages, remember!
