Fnihb

Has anyone had any experience working for First Nations Inuit Health Branch of Health Canada? Just thinking of joining them and wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom?
I have done some relief work in NW Ontario for an agency so have some idea of the work involved just not what working for Health Canada is like.

Thanks!

Go for it!!! If you have already done some work in that field you know the great experience you will gain. I know many friends who still take a few months of the year and do some outpost nursing. From what they say, the pay is good, benefits are even better. (ie northern allowances, paid travel etc)
I started out in the north and the knowledge you gain is worth 4 years of schooling.
Hope it all works out for you.

Hi Fnihb. I worked for Health & Welfare Canada for 6+ years some years ago. I worked several outposts in the arctic. I don't regret a single day! It was a great experience and a very good employeer.

I have been to NW Ontario twice now and would love to go to the arctic and Yukon one day. What better way to see our country and work at the same time!

Hello,

Would anyone here know if they accept new grads? Let alone ones from Chicago, IL?

Thank you very much,
