Hi Sheng31, I suggest you call them. I applied in April and they never send a confirmation letter, but when I called I was informed that I was already registered for the exam and where I was taking it (first choice of location )
Now we just need to wait for the exam card, which is supposed to be mailed two weeks before the exam date, still they have plenty of time to send it.
BTW, CNO revokes a temporary license immediately if the applicant fails the exam.
Janfrn is right regarding Canadapost, and then take into account that sometimes the letters are prepared but they have such a backlog that they need two more days to print them
Please keep me posted if you receive your exam card, just to know it's time to call CNO again.

Thanks for the info guys. I did call CNO twice last week but went to voicemail so I left a message with my name and number. Guess what, they never returned my call. Surprise! I will phone CNO tomorrow if I won't hear from them by then. I sure will keep you posted.

It's the Canadian Nursing Association's prep guide. The Canadian Nursing Association is the group that prepares the exam. that information is found in the sticky about the CRNE at the top of the home page for the Canadian Forum... FAQ: The Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE)

I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????

I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!

Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!
The UK style of nursing suits the CRNE well, we have the same psyche-social lean that they do. The CNA book is the best for practice, any of the others will do for contect. There's a lot of community based content too - again not a major issue for UK nurses. It's tricky you need to reakky, really read the question then "eeny, meeny miny......"

Seriously, don't over think the answer, your instincts will probably be right but if in doubt go for the most long- winded, awkward sounding answer, it'll be the most likely one! ABC's are paramount (way more than N-CLEX) & look for the hedging words - "may, could, might" -more likely to be the correct answers than "will" or "must"

Good luck everyone! Glad I'm done!

Good luck!

Hi - new to site but also writing in October in Toronto. Does anyone know where the writing centres are?

Also for those who are looking for books if you are members of the RCN you can get copies of the CRNE prep guide from them.

Good luck to everyone studying.

The writing centres are usually hotel ballrooms or banquet rooms. I wrote mine at the International Inn in Winnipeg as did the majority of nurses writing in Manitoba that year. Using hotels is a good idea because they're centrally located, offer lots of parking and usually have a number of choices for meal breaks. (When I wrote in 1994 the CNATS as it was called was four exams with a total of 700 questions over two days, unlike now.)

In Ontario, the exam will only be written in four cities, Hamilton, London, Ottawa and Toronto. Perhaps someone who wrote the June exam can post the location they attended. I think I read a post in the June thread that did.

Providing I find a Tim Hortons neaby to have my ice capp, I'll be alright
I really dislike coming back to complete the exam after a break, I anticipate an awful headache

Hi guys. How's the review going? My friend wrote the CRNE Feb. this year at Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Front Street. So there's an idea.

Petgroomer, I have the same problem here. Someone advised from another thread to bring your fave pain killer on the exam day as you'd likely get one
