Merged with existing Oct 09 CRNE thread as topics very similar

Also suggest you have a search as there are many threads discussing CRNE and what study material to use

[quote=RNA/dawn;3803717]I have a huge problem accessing the RNA's version of the prep guide......yes I can purchase it online from their bookstore....but the charge $240 to ship it to England where i live at present, and i just can't afford that much!!!!
Maybe you should do cost/benefit analysis of using of a study guide that is developed by the canadian nurses association vs going without, it is less expensive to do everything you can to maximize your chances of passing the exam the first time around. Think about the big picture.

Hi vincnet777. When are you coming over to NS and when are you writing the exam? Reading from previous threads here, most suggested the CRNE Prep Guide 4th edition. Some suggested the Mosby or Lippincott. When you think you have studied enough, try the online CRNE Readiness Test on the CNA website. It's probably around $40 or so. I don't think you need to go back to basics like reading Fundamentals of Nursing, Anatomy, or Med Surg. Once you've gone through the Prep Guide, you will find the questions are more on therapeutic nurse-client relationship and pyschosocial. Good luck!

Try Campus bookstore at Qeen's University in Kingstone Ontario. The shipping fees were much lower when I ordered it.
Good Luck

I have the Mosby's Comprehensive Review for the Canadian RN Exam. I got it from the University Bookstore here in Saskatoon. It's a nice study material. It gives you an overview about everything. It also has a practice test after each chapter and a two long tests at the end of the book. I also have the CNA prep guide which I am planning to read after im done with the comprehensive review book. Do you guys think that self study will be sufficient to pass the CRNE? I was thinking of enrolling in a prep course but I think they dont have it here in saskatoon.
I hope we all pass the exam in October!

Hi, I was wondering the same, and I think self-study will be my only option too

I've heard of a 3 day CRNE prep course in Regina but it will be too expensive for me to get into that course since Regina is quite far from Saskatoon so I would have to pay for food and accommodation too. I am planning to do the online readiness test when im done with all my review materials. Goodluck to all of us taking the test in October.

SIAST is offering it in Regina, not sure about Saskatoon, just contact them.
If it's only in Regina, you can stay at the hostel, ask Siast about it, it's quite cheap, and you can take the bus if the flight is too expensive.

Regina is NOT far from Saskatoon. It's a three hour drive. In Canada that's practically in the neighbourhood.
