Today is november 2. I did some reading on the October CRNE last year and they started receiving results on November 9 in Saskatchewan. People from other provinces received their results at a later date. A few more days and everything will be alright! I hope we all receive a positive result. Goodluck to all of us...

Hope I have passed the test. Anyone got the results already?
I'm so nervous.
And on a top of it I had to move to Edmonton, where there is not a single RN JOB((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US.

yes, you're right! there is no RN job in Edmonton! I live here and I was about to leave this province but I found a job 2 weeks ago and now I have been waiting for 2 weeks now to get the permit to work. I still have to wait maybe 2 more weeks to get the permit because the college is very busy! I wonder how the manager is willing to wait for me?! At least I hope I pass the exam!

I read that last year somebody from Edmonton got the result on Oct 13.

I am actually shocked by what you guys are saying...for the past several months all I've been hearing is that Alberta is booming and there are tons of job opportunities over there...I was actually considering moving there. What is actually going on?

the former Capital Health is reorganizing and there is a freezing process here. On Oct 20 was a workshop here, in Edmonton! Only one company which has a location in Edmonton was present. How can you explain that??? The freezing process started on May 2009. Nobody knows how long it will takes!

well, have you been following the threads here? The Alberta Health Services and it's freeze has been widely discussed and several of us have tried to warn people in various posts but nobody seems to pay attention because overseas recruiters KNOW more than we do.

Seriously? You SERIOUSLY didn't know that Alberta has a hiring freeze? SERIOUSLY??

In order to work for Alberta Health Services you have to already be an Alberta Health Services employee. The only openings are restricted postings for current AHS employees only. As Fiona59 said, this topic has been discussed in great detail in more than one thread. You need to read these:

http://allnurses.com/international-n...da-369077.html
http://allnurses.com/international-n...ta-412915.html

Dr Duckett is still talking about layoffs even thought we're desperately short on many units and there are some units that are replacing their RNs with CNAs and RTs.

Health Re: CRNE 7th october
Hello guys. Just got a word that results for those taking their last chance to make it were out. Unfortunately I felt bad for those who recieved this unwellcome news because similar to previous incidents they were treated badly as if they were animals ( oops even worst ) being kicked out from work, from the province. There is no week/s or month advance notice, your only notice is the on the spot verbal notice that will also serve as your final notice and good bye. I felt sorry for those who had previous jobs abroad but left to accept the offer in this country ... that is why this serves as a lesson and a warning for those who dreamed of transfering here and work....be sure your ready for the tough life ahead ....you might be earning a little bit more here but the happiness and peace of mind is absolutely priceless. The rules here are tough, the playing field is rough, courtesy here doesnot exist...you will feel alone, bullied as if those things were part of the extra dollar you earn....at the end of the day your life evolves around work, work, work ...will you still be working tomorrow, will your permit be renewed, is there a work waiting for me here after, just some of the few regular questions one should deal.

However those who succeeded and made it through the storms, they are trying to catch up for the lost life they had and feel great as if they own the whole world for their struggle was indeed something special that not everyone could achieve.

Always have plan B ready anytime...not during, after...but anytime.

Which province are you referring to? It's always been clear. Three attempts to pass and then game over.

Back in 2007/08 on this board many nurses tried to tell overseas nurses that it wasn't an easy country to work in. Some posters felt that they were the answers to Canada's nursing shortage and could tell us how to do our jobs. There was an arrogance that was unreal.

As for courtesy, well I know that my unit and hospital bent over backwards to make our IENs feel welcome. You get into a new country what you are willing to put into it. If people choose to decline invitations, socialize within their own community and speak in their own language around their co-workers who do not share the tongue, how much "courtesy" do you really expect?

I'm sorry for anyone who has failed their exams BUT they knew the rules for keeping their job and their visas were tied to a succesful exam write.

Fiona59......I agree with you completely....the rules on the CRNE are very clear!!!!....Thats the risk you take moving on a temporary liscence i suppose.....

Not long now until results time....Guys try not to think about it (i know easier said than done) but they will come, when they get here....and nothing can change that!!! Chill and enjoy the next couple of weeks!!!!!
