any opinions about ubc?????

Are you talking about nursing school?
The only negative thing I've heard from a few people about it is that they don't start their clinical practice until their 3rd year so they don't get the same amount of experience as other nursing schools. One RN I talked to during my last clinical placement said she had no idea how to take a blood pressure until 3rd year. I reckon it'd be quite stressful and frustrating having to wait so long to get into hospital to utilize the skills.

A friend of mine is taking her BSN in Kelowna....I can't remember the name of the university, but after year one she can take an exam and work as a care aid, year two...exam to an LPN, year three she can work as an undergrad RN, so each year b/c in part she has her "hands-on" training she is able to work in the field during her off months of school.
When I asked her opinion of not having any clinical until 3rd year, she insisted that being able to work in the hospital during her off months helped her graduate as one of the top in her class.

I just graduated from UBC. The school of nursing is very focused on their graduate programs, it seems and don't care a lot about their undergraduate program. I'm very unhappy with the education and attention I received from that school, but I made the most of it.

I am a spanish registered nurse/midwife currently working in the UK. I am planning to apply for a MSN at UBC. Can anyone tell me how difficult is to get a place in this degree? Are there many people applying for it? Is it worthy to pay the money thay ask for it?
