any info on postponing to take the CRNE

Hello,
I'm an internationally educated nurse (from the philippines batch 2007) and i just started passing my requirements to the CRNBC so they can assess whether or not i can take the exam, i was wondering, what if i've complied with the necessary requirements (200 + CAD fee for assessment, ielts, school transcripts, professional experience record which are the things they're asking) the next step would be to pass the statutory form, police report and to pay the fee of 400+ CAD right? the form said that they'll hold your records for 2 years so that means its okay to finish filing to take the exam at a later date right? as long as you haven't paid the 400 fee or something yet? because i'm not sure i want to take the test this year yet and i wanted to know if anyone has any information about this.. i would really appreciate it.

well.. you can actually pay everything now, and schedule the exam date you want for next year ( or for any date that you want, for that matter). the college only wants your (satisfactory) credentials and payment, it's up to you whether you want to process it as fast as a rabbit or as slow as a turtle... i can say this because on the test application form itself, there is a question that asks when do you want to take the CRNE (feb, june, oct) and what year...

on that note.. why do you want to delay the process though?take the exam as soon as you can...for a couple of reasons. first, the short answer questions are not implemented right now(for the whole 2008, as far as i know) and 2nd... well better than sooner rather than later, right?

one other thing, i'm an IEN as well (well... you already know me lol) - so i can say we are not that different....and in my opinion.. the boards from the ph is harder compared to the crne... well, you can ask other IEN's if you want. good luck!

Really the board exam here is harder than CRNE? WEll that just increase my confidence to study more! hahaha... Actually I answered about 20 questions from CRNE prep guide and I got 19 out of 20 compared to NCLEX which is 6 out of 20. hahaha....

Thank you for the info....

hello! how are you? yes, i do remember you.. its been a while. anyways, you kind of already know why i wanna postpone taking the test, has something to do with me wanting to go back home (phils.) but not entirely because the thing is, i'm really really tired of waiting for the PRC to release the license cards (seeing as to that's what i lack in order to be elidgible to take the CRNE, from what i understand, but pls correct me if im wrong.) and i want to go ask them personally while i'm there.. and thanks again for the info. you're really a great help

Have you looked at any of the other CRNE threads? There's a ton of information already here.
