Hi everyone,

I decided to start a thread to see if anyone has applied for January 2015 intake. This is my first time applying to UFV. Wondering if anyone can give some advice. Here is what I am I have done so far.... I have 123 hrs of volunteer hours, as far as grades go, I graduate from high school 10 years ago, so my high school grades are a bit out of date. I have however completed my first year A&P courses, first year English plus an English elective, a stats course. Will anyone know if this will be competitive enough?

I think you have to have biology completed within a certain time before you apply. For Conestoga I believe its 4 years? I dont remember, but you might have to redo a bio for a refresher.

Thanks. But I did my first bio last summer and I just completed the second part this past semester ( these are first year A&P courses).

Oh then youre good to go : )

Make sure that your A&P is transferable. LPNs and kineisiology students also take A&P through UFV, and those are not the required courses. Also, your Pre req courses need top top notch, because admissions has become super competitive. Good luck!

Thanks, yes my A&P are transferable. Im alittle worried that i don't have the best grades through( my first A&P I got a B- and my second A&P I got a C). They do take place of my math 11 and Chem 11 marks, but I've read a couple of threads and starting to feel a bit worried.

Hmmm. I dont understand. Your A&P takes the place of math and chem? What are your math, chem, eng, bio marks?

Sorry i mean Bio and chem. I spoke with an advisor in Abby, and because I have been out of school for so long, my university marks will take the place for my high school marks.

I see. A&P grades shouldn't count towards your pre reqs. I was admitted with a bad A&P grade, that didnt count toward my pre req score. As long as you have high marks in math, bio, eng and chem..

Ahhh I dont have the highest grades... I think i might have to redo redo english and Bio as I only have a C in them :( this is really stressin me out.

It is probably a good idea to upgrade. Although you will need a min c+ in your pre reqs, it is competitive entry and they base your admission application on a point system. Academics provide the most points. In my intake most of us who got in had all As or all As one B. Don't let that discourage you, because it will give you time to do an elective or two. I didnt get in my first try.

i'm applying for january 2015 as well!
