RPN to RN @ UOIT w/ a 3 GPA

So my average @ my current college is 3.2/4.0 (B) and it should be a 3.3 this semester.

So convert that to UOIT scale, i am sitting at around 3 (B) on UOIT Scale.

Based on previous admissions from members here, do i need to improve on that average more? How competitive is admissions for UOIT for a Toronto local?

Hey, that's pretty impressive.

I'm really worried about my upcoming practical nursing assessment tests in George Brown and Humber. I also eventually decided to apply to Seneca and Centennial but the first two are my first option. I did my education outside so the assessment tests are my best bet for getting in quick.

I read somewhere that you did George Brown, can you tell me what to focus on for Science? I researched most of what I could but I didn't find the books and my test is too soon for me to purchase them on amazon. Anyways PLEASE help me out on the science bit?

also if you have any idea about Humber's test?

I am in the RPN program right now at Georgian, and I have been told (by my school) I need to get a MIN of 80% average in every class if I even want to be considered for the UOIT bridging program. It is very competitive. One of my friends who has been working as an RPN for 6 years in med/surg has applied 2 times and has not gotten accepted! So my plan is to try and keep my average above 85% if I can so I have a chance to bridge when the time comes. Good Luck :)

Innovativenurse how did you work out your GPA? I'm currently at mohawk college with what i consider to be good grades given as a percentage and would really like to see how they fit into the university GPA system.

Sun2bnrse I have heard the same for applying to McMaster for their bridging program that you require an +80% and that it is very competitive to get in.

I know of a few of my classmates who transferred from the bridging program at Centennial College to UOIT and I recall one of them saying they had a GPA of 3.7 in their practical nursing program which was taken at Centennial College as well. Its best to call UOIT and ask them what their last intake GPA cutoff average was since every year is different. I've heard of people getting in with a minimal 3.1 GPA and some as high as 4.0 so it may depend on the number of applicants and available seats.
