Nursing Graduation pins Ontario

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

Well as the start of my RPN program at GBC is getting closer, I'm wondering why there are no more nursing graduation pins? Anyone have any idea? I know that Ryerson does a ceremony of sorts but it's at the start of the program and thats only for RN.

I'd like to ask GBC to start a pinning ceremony after graduation for RPNs anyone with me??

Many schools still do a pinning ceremony, I am surprised to hear others don't! I looked forward to getting my pin more than getting my diploma! :)

Awesome! Anyone know which schools still do it? So that I can use this as incentive to get GBC to do the pinning :)

I don't know any school that does. Mine didn't. You can always ask them and see what they say.

Conestoga's RPN program has a pinning ceremony. So does the Conestoga-Mohawk-McMaster collaborative BScN program. As well as Mac's BScN program. Last I heard. I worked with someone who attended another college that also had a pinning ceremony but which college it is has escaped me, sorry!

We received a pin upon graduation at my college in Alberta. It was handed to us when we walked the stage. It's fugly.

The one I really like is the silver pin CLPNA sent us after passing CPRNE. Engraved with our registration numbers.

Cool I wonder if the CNO sends us RPN's in Ontario one?

Unfortunately not. I wish!

I went to Mohawk and we never got a pin or had a ceremony...I know they do it for the BSCN students (no fair!). I've seen some RPNs that wear rather officially looking pins that say "registered practical nurse" and it kind of looks like a coat of arms but I have no clue where they got them..I kind of want to know! lol

Try your provincial college. CLPNA and CLPNBC used to sell some nice ones.

I know the BscN at Ryerson/GBC does have a ceremony and I agree not fair! CNO should have them too :(

I want to know where these RPNs got these fancy pins that I see...next time I see one I'm going to ask.
