as for first term it goes by extremely slowly.. very boring dry stuff.
second term we are placed in geriatric care homes
third term we are put into acute care (still majority is old people.. they come in with cva's and mi's most of the time) - Mar 5, '07 by Florence NightinFAIL^ Definitely! Thanks Nowories.
What is the worst experience you had so far? And which teachers should I stay away from? I've been looking at ratemyprofessor.com for the ratings of Nursing profs and overall they're average. - Nov 5, '09 by TingersHi,
I will be starting nursing at Langara College this September 2010. Are there any suggestions, course tips, books to get or not to get, books to pre-read. I am excited, but would like to find out more about what to expect from some courses and from the student nurses' experiences.
thanks. look forward hearing from y'all. - Nov 18, '09 by rosieeehey tingers
i was just wondering how long were you on the waitlist at langara before being accepted into the program? I just applied i hope i wont have to wait forever lol
thanks! - Nov 18, '09 by green_tearosieee,
There is currently a 2-year wait for entry into the Nursing Program in langara... I submitted my docs in Sept, and I still haven't heard back from them yet. Waiting sucks!!! - Nov 18, '09 by rosieeehey green tea!
thanks for letting me know! wow 2 years is a long timeeee! hopefully we wont have to wait too too long to hear back! - Nov 19, '09 by TingersHi Rosiee,
I applied last year spring, got offered a seat this september because someone dropped out of the waitlist, or like me, I couldn't take the seat this september so i postponed until next year. According to the admissions office, they said usually about 1 year wait time due people dropping out, changed their minds, etc. So overall I'd said about a year, but i do agree waiting sucks. Best of luck to you though. - Nov 21, '09 by rosieeeThanks for the reply Tingers!
A year doesn't sound too horrible, now i have a much better idea of how long i'll be waiting.

Have you heard anything from Langara yet?
It's been almost 9 weeks for me and I didn't heard anything... it's really worrying me...
Was there a supplement/essay that we have to write??? O___O
