Thank you Junoboy, I got confirmation from admissions that classes end at 2:00. The kwantlen program sounds great because it is so flexible, but I am a bit nervous about learning nursing online. Can any current students give us feedback as to how it is? Is it possible to learn nursing skills online? Thanks in advance for your input. I am trying to make as informed decision as possible about the program. I have already been accepted into the RPN program at Douglas and am on the wait list for UBC. I would say that a negative aspect to Kwantlen is the price, it will cost about $6000 more than UBC!

Wow, it costs more than UBC? I guess it is a longer program. It's amazing they can charge so much for something that is almost entirely online, haha. I am also pretty nervous about the online aspect, I've always taken classes on campus and am worried about what the structure will be like! Basically I would just like a current student to lay out a very detailed step-by-step look at what we're in for for the next 2.25 years of our lives, because I only have a very vague idea!

I've declined my offer at Kwantlen to accept UBC. It was a tough decision as both programs have strengths. Good luck to everybody in the program.

I have a question. I have looked at the final semester registration on the online service centre: Practice and praxis 7...and only 4 people have registered. I think that class started with 16 people...where did everyone else go? dropped out? failed? I get suspicious easily lol This program is going to cost a lot of money and I think we should all be well informed before diving in. Also, if you look at the 4 year bsn program web page on kwantlen and compare it the to bsn-pb kwantlen web page, different career opportunities are listed. Any red flag you think?

In regards to the career opportunities for the bsn-PB vs the 4 year, I believe they are trying to show that the PB has more advanced career opportunities available like educator and management in comparison the the 4 year Bsn. If that is true or not, I'm really not sure. As for the 4 people enrolled in the final semester I believe that would be the original cohort and it IS a bit worrisome. I

Hi ocean waves,

I have the same worries as you. I don't know if we should try emailing the school asking how many people from the original cohort of 40 are still in the program now? But who knows if they'll even tell us the truth. Kwantlen seems like such a reputable school though so that's why I keep telling myself things will be ok but I'm also worried. Wish some of the people from this thread from last year could come in and offer information.

I have a friend who is currently taking this same program at Kwantlen and she said that it's been good so far. Intense, but good. I've talked with them before about how many of the original cohort made it through and their response was that out of 16 people, 15 made it through...BUT I'm wondering if there were 15 people, then why is there only 4 people registered for the final semester? It would benefit Kwantlen to help people pass and gain a job after and this would promote their program, so I think Kwantlen will keep changing their program to help make it easier and better. We'll be the third class, so they have had time to improve their delivery methods by now hopefully.

Hey ocean waves thanks for your answer. Are you able to ask your friend why he/she thinks there's only 4 people registered for the final semester? That sounds kinda sketchy lol

Hey ocean waves! Were you able to talk to your friend or somebody at admissions?

Hi pinkbubbles! I didn't get a chance to talk to my friend yet, or the admissions people. But there are now more people registered in the last semester. Weird how most of them registered a month after everyone else lol I think there's 11 registered now, and the class started with 16, which is not bad I guess lol
