Hello everyone!

I got accepted to the Humber 2nd entry program for September and I just wanted to connect with other future students before the term starts! Does anyone know when we'll be getting our schedules for the fall prep semester? How do we access our Humber email address? Is there a facebook group specifically for 2nd entry students?

hope to hear from someone soon!

Hi nclue!

Congrats on the acceptance!

I will also be attending UNB/humber in the fall (2nd Entry). It is a bit confusing in terms of when we will receive our schedules. According to SRS Humber, it says students can register on August 5th. However, on Humber's registration page, it states that around August 20th, UNB students are able to join classes. I called Humber last month to find out when we would expect to get our schedules and at that time no one could give me a definite answer. Each person I spoke to stated that the 2nd entry program is unique and has its own deadlines and that schedules usually come out later than other programs. I am sure we will receive emails closer to the date to let us know when registration would begin for us.

I am not sure where to get the humber email address-I haven't even received notification on what my email address is. I tried logging in to the email portion using my username (same username for SRS) but it wouldn't allow me to log in.

As far as I know, there are no 2nd entry Facebook groups for our graduating class yet… I have only seen Facebook groups for previous years.

Which prep courses are you required to take in the fall?

I'm attending Humber in September, but for the full 4 year program. This years, we make our own schedules (kinda). We get to choose from a list of pre-made schedules & which one we want. The only thing we get to personally choose are our electives. Also, each program has a specific date & time to register for courses. I'm guessing you'd be the Bachelor of Nursing Year 3 Profile C (Second Entry) so you'd register on Wednesday August 20th @ 9:00am

hey justwanttomakeit! I emailed the enrolment advisor yesterday asking about our schedules and this was her response:

"I will be building your timetable for you. There is no need for you to long in and register for any courses. Once again, Second Entry students are often exemptions to a number of the regular policies here at Humber as the program is so niche. "

So I assume we really don't have to do anything with our schedules... It would be nice to know when we'll be getting these schedules as I'm planning on working part time in the fall. I'll probably inquire further, but I assume early august is when we'll get them?

I'm required to take Stats, Microbio and I don't remember the third lol how about you?

Oh, well it is good to know they will be making the schedule for us! I am in the same boat with you in terms of wanting to work part-time which is why I wanted to know what our timetable will look like sooner rather than later.

I have take Microbiology, Patho, and Anatomy.

Oh I think my third course is actually Patho! Well once I get an update i'll be sure to post in here. I'm sure there are a lot of other people in the same boat.

Question, what made you guys choose Humber? (Instead of like York, Western etc...)

@nclue That would be great if you could let us know once you find out! :)

Well I only got into the Humber and Trent accelerated programs so that narrowed down my choices lol and I live in the GTA so that's why I chose Humber!

@nataliej I got into Western, Trent and UNB/Humber. I think for me location played a huge part. I did not want to spend more money to live away from home. The UNB/Humber program looked pretty solid (although I heard and had some experiences that made me doubt their program after I accepted my offer). What about you? What made you choose Humber?

Western was VERY tempting. Their facilities look amazing....But I really had to factor in the extra costs to move and live there.

It wasn't feasible for me/ my bank account lol

Hey guys!

I am also going to Humber for the second entry program starting in Sept! And I am waiting to hear about our schedules as well as I will be working in the fall (and possibly beyond). A little frustrating that we don't find out or schedules until so late!

As for why I chose Humber...I live in the GTA and it is definitely the most convenient option for me and I like the way the program is designed.

Excited to meet you all in the fall :)
