Hi everyone! I am an IEN from the Philippines batch 2009 I moved here in Brampton last November 2010.

I took the May 2012 CPNRE (first time) and still waiting for the results which will come out on June. Apparently, I just received my RN eligibility and so happy because it took me almost 14months (from the start of application) to wait for this. I thought CNO will make me take some courses. I was really estatic and relieved when I received the letter, because I am really rooting for RN.

Now this is it! Anyone else who are planning to take the October CRNE? :)

hi have any of the IEN's received their ID cards in the post yet?when I sat in February I had received mine a few weeks in advance. Just bit worried it hasnt come yet-i live in Ireland.

due to strikes, ALL airports in Ireland are going to be closed on Monday if an agreement is not met with unions. I am due to sit the CRNE on Wednesday so if the strike goes ahead I will be unable to make it.

What is the procedure for deferring my exam until February if this happens? Will I still be charged? this is my 2nd attempt so therefore I would like my February exam to be my 2nd attempt if I am unable to attend next weeks exam, as the strike is out of my hands.

Could anyone please contact me asap as CNO not answering emails or phones

Contact the provincial college and notify them. Check their website, the phone number will be there.

Hello Lols Ireland,

The same situation happened to one of my friend, so he contacted the provincial Nursing board and they said, that he will be given new hall ticket at the examination veune. However, you have to be at the venue on the exam day at the earliest and show your government ID(passport). Hope this will help you.

The deadline for withdrawal or reschedule without penalty was August 17. You may, because of these extenuating circumstances, be permitted to reschedule without penalty though. The only way that will happen is if you contact CNO. Keep trying. Someone will respond eventually.

Stressful.

The exam was more challenging than I expected it to be. There were a lot of knowledge based questions, which didn't bother me (although I know that I certainly got several of those wrong) -- it was the vagueness, the ambiguity, the dozens upon dozens of questions that had two equally applicable/ ridiculous options to choose from.

I was a straight A student throughout my degree. This is the first time that I have been completely shaken in my confidence after an exam. I've always been paranoid about the possibility of failure (it helped me be a better student, I think), but I've never been so completely terrified of it -- and humbled by it -- as I am tonight.

And for those of us that wrote today in Ontario, this is a bad time to fail, what with the requirements to be eligible to write the exam changing in January (re: the jurisprudence exam). We HAVE to pass, or we get a whole set of requirements added to our plates that were not fully included in formal teaching.

I am already having a nervous breakdown, waiting for November. I'm convinced I failed. :(

I'm nervous about the exam results too :( I studied for a long time and it seemed like the questions were so random. I know I answered at least 10 knowledge based questions wrong, on top of the 50 that I was uncertain about :(

i feel the same. wrote it in toronto yesterday. studied very hard. in hindsight, have no idea how i would of studied differently. give me another few months and it wouldn't of mattered. of course, i didn't remember everything and know i got some knowledge based questions wrong, and probably didn't read some other questions correctly. i have no idea how many i got correct and am trying not to over analyse. just feel as above, always at least 2 right answers, questions vague and ambiguous.

due to the new rule changes in ontario, i was only afforded 1 effort to pass the exam as the new rule change affects my 'recent practice' (changes from 5 to 3 years). am an ien and have been living here, not working as a rn for nearly 3 years (the cno have taken a very long time of that 'assessing' my application - leaving me with little time to sit exams). so should i fail, i have to meet other criteria again before i can re-sit (though it has not been decided how this will be done from what i have been told). so, i would be feeling very hard done by if results don't go my way. the fact that i was only given this information about the rule change a few weeks before the exam does not help. my initial study plan was try by myself for the 1st exam, see how i do. was fairly confident in my experience, knowledge and ability to test well. if i fail, i would apply to re-sit but take some kind of prep course too. if i would of known that i would only have 1 chance (before i have to meet new requirements) i would of done the prep course too.

oh well, nothing to be done about it now. good luck to you all!

I totally agree.. very very disappointed. Self esteem is very low after the exam.. thinking of the newly added requirements making it worse.. Aw... I started the exam praying for all the candidates writing exam in the Ontario exam centre. Started to answer with a pace.. not nervous.. but the last one hour.. I can't explain how I felt. Although I practiced questions like an actual exam, I was not able to catch up with the time on the exam day :arghh:.. Praying God..

Everyone who writes the CRNE feels more or less the same as you. What was that? We wondered. This is the reason why so many of us have tried to give helpful advice on this forum regarding study tips. The exam is tricky. Hopefully, when in doubt, you remembered the nursing process. All you can do now is wait....many of you were successful, I'm sure. I remember analysing questions in my head after the exam. You will probably do the same. Instead, go do something fun.
