Hi AllNurses :nurse:. I will be writing the CPNRE on January 2011. My study materials are:

-Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing 2nd Edition and

-The Canadian PN Exam Prep Guide 3rd Edition.

To all test takers for January 2011 (hoping that I am not the only one here), please join and we'll support each other to stay on track and keep on going. To all other members who passed the exam or knowledgeable about the CPNRE, please give some inputs. Badly needed. Thank you.

A prayer to all of us, "Lord God, our Saviour, we are asking for your guidance for the upcoming CPNRE. Help us to comprehend what we are studying and give us wisdom to pass the exam. Please Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen".

your support is really helpful. for my first time, i did not study. I just thought i'll pass as i was a new grad. For my second time, i studied hard, went through all my notes and everything.For the first time, i was not even sure what i did on my exam. But this time, i know what i did.Last time,it was by 15 points and this time by 10 points. I just question myself that studying hard for 2 months made only 5 points difference, sounds impossible to me.

Now, i am going to take a prep course which i never thought i would need, but its all about luck i guess.

& Dishes-thanks a lot for your help. I had no coping or stress problem but this time i am in depression. Ever since i got my result, my eyes are tearful.

What would you guys suggest? Should i try hand-scoring or not?I am so confused.:(

If you really feel they may have made a mistake, and can spare the money, then for sure get them to remark it. Look at it this way: it can't hurt, but could potentially mean all the difference. That's just my opinion, however - it is obviously your choice to make.

Hi angel_doc. Im sorry, I hope you'll feel better soon... My suggestion, if you can afford and it's ok for you to spend $56, then GO for it. If somehow it can eliminate the doubts and give you peace of mind then it's worth to pay for the hand-scoring. Maybe it can also help you to move on and help you focus and concentrate on your review...But it's really up to you... Wish you all the best and good luck. God bless you.

There is a good resourse called nclex saunders comprehensive review for PN.

This book was ALL I looked at and the ASI booklet, i choose this book over my own notes. its very good. About 72 bucks?

If you don't go for the review classes this book is a great alternative. it has questions after each chapter and i would also suggest the ASI practice test/booklet.

i hope everything works out! dont give up!

I had that book too. I also used Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing, looked at Potter & Perry, and used the ASI book to practice questions. I also did the ASI online predictor tests. If you're going to buy the books, and want to save a few bucks, see if you can find them used - so long as they're in good condition, and still have the CD-roms, why buy new?

Vulcan, where do you live? Are you in Ontario? I have some friends from my program in Ontario who also don't have their results. Some are in Brampton, others in the GTA - it seems to depend a lot on the speed of each individual mail carrier more then anything else. Hopefully you get your result soon!

with a ray of hope..& broken heart..i am going to take review course, i hope things work out well for me..i am not sure when i am going to write my exam..it all depends on how i do my review course exams..review course is expensive but i think worth it atleast it will buy me satisfaction and my instructor suggested me not to try this hand-scoring as 10 points is a lot & most probably nothing is going to change..stay in touch and thanks a lot everyone for ur precious time

I got back from the long weekend...and checked my mailbox.......

I PASSED!! Relief is an understatement..as I am starting my new job tomorrow.. i knew that temp license would come in handy:)
