I don't have a job at the moment. In addition to camp, I'm involved in a couple community organizations that take up a lot of my time in the spring, so I'm not really looking. It doesn't look good to potential employers when I'm unavailable Monday and Thursday nights, Saturday mornings, the last 2 weeks of April, and oh yeah, June 1 - August 15.
- Dec 30, '12 by big al lpnPediatric Home Care is my regular job. Along with a few other odds and ends.
- Dec 31, '12 by CloudySueAlso pediatric home health. I'm PRN so I just bow out for the weeks I need. Last summer I worked w several nurse educators off for the summer. Camp nursing attracts lots of school nurses, too.
- Jan 2 by bsyrnI am a shool nurse and a nursing instructor. I take time off from instructing to work camp.

- Jan 3 by CloudySueIf you are a PRN nurse in a SNF then maybe they'll let you take the summer off. If you are going to take a FT or even PT job, then they probably would not want you leaving for so long. Maybe they'll let you take unpaid time, it never hurts to ask! Also some camps have 2, 3, or 4 week sessions.
