Documentation

I am a school nurse and have been put in charge of "updating" the Health Center for a small Christian Camp. I have not done camp nursing before, so this is quite a challenge! There is no documentation from the previous nurse. Do most camps use "logs" for daily visits? In the school setting, it is not recommended due to confidentiality. Does anyone have documentation forms for visits and/or medications, and examples of Standing Orders that they would be willing to share?

I have ordered the "Basics of Camp Nursing" by Erceg and am hoping it will help.

Default Re: Documentation
The camp I work at has it's own form of MARs (which I designed back when I was a nursing student, and was pretty dern proud of at the time) which just has campers with meds listed down the side, by name then med, and the times they're given plotted out lengthwise.

Then there's a giant book where the nurse just writes a simple note about each "sick" visit or child sent to the ER/doctor.

Then of course we also have incidence reports for preventable injuries and such.
