Any family nurse practitioners working at camp?

by Boykie

Hi, just wondering if any other FNP's are working in residential camps, and what you're experiences have been like.
Thanks.

Default Re: Any family nurse practitioners working at camp?
We had a P.A. working at our camp last summer. I did not get the chance to work with her, but the camp directors said it was an ideal arrangement. I am in NP school and *loved* the autonomy of being a camp nurse....being able to prescribe the Amox and the Phenergan would have been icing on the cake. Apparently it took quite a bit of cajoling to have her working under the local family practice Dr. who usually takes call for this camp. I think he realized it would take business away from him for those four weeks......and it did, LOL !
