i have a feeling we will all get in this time around. but 5 classes is a lot!
ya i will only take 2 maybe add more if i dont get in.
5 classes is a lot but I don't work so I feel like i should just get them out of the way..and I really want to take a PE class, thinking of aerobics lol i need to get back in shape hahaDarkBluePhoenix likes this. - May 25, '12 by Mikey BQuote from DarkBluePhoenixAccording to the 2012-2014 College Catalog, page 57, this is how the status is broken down:I believe that over 6.1 units, that is fulltime.
Student enrollment certification is based on the following minimum unit loads for undergraduate students:
Full time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .12 weighted units
3/4 time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9-11 units
1/2 time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6-8.5 units
6.1 units would only be a 1/2 time student. An interesting note, however, you would have to pay the same tuition for 6.1 units as you would for 12+. - May 25, '12 by DarkBluePhoenixthanks mikey
weird.... they charge fulltime for over 6.1 units...
oh well i think i will just be half time until i hear and then add more classes later if i am not in or not. - May 25, '12 by DarkBluePhoenixi hope the PE i took for my associates transfers or else i would have to take another pe class. ughhh
- May 25, '12 by DarkBluePhoenixQuote from Mikey Bwere you at orientation on the 19th? if so did you see the break down in points for the nursing dept. i am not talking about the gpa30 pts the TEAS 15pts etc... but the actual breakdown of ranges of points for your stats? the lady giving the powerpt presentation said there was a breakdown but it was either in the office or someone in the audience had it. i didn't stay to find out if she put it up (i was late for a baby shower lol) so i was wondering if you got a hold of itAccording to the 2012-2014 College Catalog, page 57, this is how the status is broken down:

I did go on a tour of the nursing building, but she didn't show us any such document. As far as your PE class, take a look at your PAWS report in your mycoyote. If all the classes under section E are good, you shouldn't need to any other PE classes.
- May 27, '12 by DarkBluePhoenixahhh you didn't hear? Even the advisors I spoke with said that there is an actual range of points for each given category. Your system you developed was close but not accurate. But awesome try though! I just wish I would have stayed and ask her about it. Well I will try looking for it and post it when I find it.
- May 27, '12 by Mikey BYeah. Talking with one of the other applicants during the session, I realized my formula was likely flawed. I calculated points for the GPA using the range of 0 - 4.0 and the TEAS range of 0% - 100%. Since the cut off is higher than that I'll probably readjust my formulas to have the cutoff count as 0 points and see what that does. Like I said before, I don't know what scale they use but i figured I'd take a shot at it.
- May 27, '12 by DarkBluePhoenixThat is exactly what I did as well (after you told me how to do it). What do you mean the cut off is higher? Are you saying like the 3.61 and 82%? Like using those cut offs as zero? I am confuzzled lol
You did well for trying to figure it out. A hint though, one of the advisors said a male got in last winter with 34/54 of the points. She said that males will get the upper hand (lucky you) in case of a tie. I do not know if that helps.
I just know that the advisors said my stats were in the 'do not worry realm' which if I was told that then you should be a shoe in then! Since we are both higher that the averages of the last two cohorts, I hope that is good news. I just got the county points as well since I moved so I hope that locked it in for me. We will not know until July though, but its coming faster and faster. I just wanna be in already
For those registering this week, good luck and try to get as many of those capstone classes out of the way! - May 29, '12 by Mikey BWhen I made my original formulas, I used the full range of 0% - 100% for the TEAS and 0 - 4 for the GPA. If I readjusted the scale to be 0 points for a minimum score or 70% on the TEAS, which is the cutoff to be considered, and 0 points for 2.5 GPA, which WAS the minimum to be considered, I could go from there to calculate overall points.
