Hi! Has know the interview process at Washington Hospital in Fremont? I had my 1st interview and will now have the 2nd interview. The lady who called my said i should anticipate being there for 3 hours so im stressing out thinking about all the things they'll put me through! Anyway, if you can, can anyone tell me what to expect for the 2nd interview. Thanks much!!!

:yeah::bowingpur:wink2:

May I ask what you think made you stand out from other applicants to be chosen for an interview? Do you have prior healthcare experience or precept at Washington? Thank you.

The first round of interviews was a group interview. There were four people being interviewed in the same room, by 3 med/surg nurse managers. They each took turns asking questions of each interviewee. they asked pretty basic scenario questions and then a few clinical questions. one about diabetic patients and one about...i believe COPD or pneumonia.

Then, the second round interview was a large group interview. all 40 candidates selected to move on, were in the same room, split up into groups of four people, and then asked to work on a case study together and present it.

I didn't really like their interviewing process, as it didn't give you any chance to talk with anyone one on one. pretty chaotic if you ask me.

Thank you for the information. Did all of the candidates have an opportunity to answer the clinical questions? Also, were the clinical questions difficult and did they include lab values?

Lastly, what was rhe timeframe after the first and second interview for advancing forward?

Thanks, again! :nurse:

Has any one had an interview with Washington this week yet? How was it going? did they make you guys nervous?

I also got my call! Did you get the paperwork?

Got a call this morning that I got the job! Woohoo! Anyway, just wondering if there are others out there who got calls... would love to exchange contact info or possibly meet up before we start in a month! Yay!

I was recently selected for the second round of interviews with WA Hospital. Do you have any advice on how to prepare for the second round of interviews or even what to expect? I really want this position and I am trying to prepare as much as I can. Thank you in advance! :nurse:

I went through the second round interview a while back. I did not get the job but I can tell you what I experienced.

The second interview is a little bizarre. In my case it was 20 finalists. We were all brought into the same room and essentially asked to do group activites for two hours. Nothing difficult. I suppose they are looking for leadership and communication ablities so be aware of that.

It was a very strange process. The style of interview, if you can call it that, doesn't really allow anyone to show their strengths, achievments or personalities. In my experience there was no one-on-one time with any hiring manager which felt odd. When they called to let me know I did not get the position they said it came down to personality fit with the managers and all I could think was, I didn't meet with the managers, how would they know my personality? It was a somewhat fun and interesting intview technique but I felt no one was able to shine in that situation. There must be some evidence to support the practice though or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Ultimately, be yourself and do your best not to get lost in the sea of other candidates.

Loma6685,

Thank you for the information! With regard to the cases, were they difficult and did the managers ask you questions after presenting the case? I'm trying to bring everything that I have to the table and be as prepared as possible; however, med/surg is such a large area that requires a ton of information. :confused: :eek:

did you get hired? I was wondering how you like it and how the interviews went!
