Can anyone help decipher this email I got from the VA? On my application status, it says I am "Referred." However, in the body of the email it says

" Status Code: Status Message:

R - Referred We reviewed your application and concur that you are qualified for the position listed above. We have

referred your name to the selecting official(s) for consideration, and they will contact you if an

interview is needed.

NR - Not We have reviewed your application and found you minimally qualified for the position listed above.

Referred However, due to interim guidance regarding making new appointments to Excepted occupations,

consideration for referral has been restricted to qualified internal employees and qualified preference

eligible applicants.

Therefore, your name will not be referred to the employing agency at this time. If a request is received

from the hiring office for additional candidates within the next 30-60 days, your qualifications may then

be reviewed for possible referral; otherwise, this is your final notice regarding this position,

series/grade, and location."

Was I referred or not? The whole "therefore, your name will not be referred" is confusing.

Hi everyone I have applied also and received the same email today! The email was difficult to understand so to check for clarification, I signed into my account on usajobs and then checked the status on their website. On usajobs, I then saw that my status said referred! So hopefully I will get a interview soon.

My application status also changed to referred. I received a similar email today for the NOR as you guys. I also received a Referral Letter email after that one. I think I had two referral names for my Referral Letter email, judging by the different referral names. One said referred and the other said not referred. I received my call for an interview before I got these emails if that helps any. I'm not sure what it all means either, but maybe they'll still be calling for interviews...?

Edit: In the spring applications, I was never contacted. At that time, I only received an NOR email in March, and no referral letter email. In April, I got an email called a disposition letter, which stated I was, "Not Selected - Not Contacted." It's totally different from this referred/not referred email they're sending out now.
